In the construction industry, there are a lot of technological innovations to look forward to, and one of them is machine learning and artificial intelligence. In the year 2019, there’s more for us to expect, and allow us to discuss some of the futuristic predictions for construction technology in 2019.

Next-Level Computer Architecture

Although microprocessors and CPUs are already being used in the construction industry, the problem with these is that they are not that equipped to handle the demands of a construction project. Likewise, even the fastest CPUs of today don’t have that ability either.

For machine learning to process efficiently, it’s essential that it’s using CPUs with best-in-class microprocessors. GPUs are perfect for this, and that’s why they’re in demand because they can accelerate the ML training process even more. Furthermore, GPUs contain hundreds of cores that are known for making the best processors that are capable of boosting AI-based programs.

Technological Integration Will Continue to Happen

Not only in the construction industry, but almost in every industry, technology is one of the major factors that encourage these sectors to be better versions in their field. In the construction world, recent advancements have contributed to an improvement in productivity and efficiency.

For example, waterfilled barriers are getting more advanced, drones are becoming widely used, wearables are becoming a requirement, and many more. We can say that the construction industry is really embracing new technology.

These will make the construction work more efficient, safer, and budget-friendly. This holds true especially with 3D printing because it’s now possible to ensure that the materials needed are placed precisely and on their perfect size. Then, self-vehicles are also getting more and more popular because not only are they user-friendly, they also ensure that the whole construction process is straightforward.

Another technology that we should look forward to in the future would be BIM. It is believed that BIM will make the collaboration aspect of the construction industry hassle-free. As of now, it requires tens (sometimes, even hundreds) of people to complete a task, but with technology, this can be done even when the number of workers is limited.

Therefore more and more companies are utilizing BIM technology, because of the benefits it has to offer.

Project Management Software Will Become More Popular

There’s a reason that more and more industries are utilizing project management software, and the construction industry is no exception to this. For the past few years, there’s no denying that the construction industry has improved significantly and there are no signs that it’s going to stop any time soon.

From designing to planning, and even running a construction site, all of these can be handled by a project management software with ease.

Project management software is handy that it even provides companies with some benefits. One of which is that they can enjoy transparency, efficiency, and most especially, accountability. That means you’ll also be able to optimize how you handle construction projects even more which means you wouldn’t be wasting a lot while improving the overall outcome as well.
